A portion of the author's proceeds will be donated to The Taylor Matthews Foundation, a tay-bandz organization. Tay-bandz is a 501 C 3 non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funding pediatric cancer research.
We fund innovative research and treatments that can reach sick children today, not months or years from now, to improve outcomes and reduce the long-term survivorship side effects associated with pediatric cancer
Today, we have raised approximately $1.4 million dollars for pediatric cancer research. We have funded research at Columbia University Medical Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center, the National Institute of Health, and Memorial Sloan Kettering. We are embarking on a new day in pediatric cancer: a day of less toxic and more successful treatments, greater hope for sick children and their families, and easier access to therapies of all kinds. We are a few steps closer to achieving Taylor's mission that all children with cancer will live long, healthy, productive lives. Our research is saving lives today.
We continue to fight in Taylor’s honor and will never falter in our commitment to children with cancer. We are keeping Taylor’s spirit, her thirst to make change, and her dedication to help others alive. While her life was tragically cut short, her mark on the world lives on in our family, in the foundation, and in children who have and will win their battles against cancer.
THE TAYLOR MATTHEWS
FOUNDATION
Taylor was diagnosed with pediatric cancer when she was eleven years old. The shock of diagnosis soon gave way to the alarming reality that treatments for Taylor’s particular disease had not changed in decades. Unless you are in the world of pediatric cancer, the fact that the government provides very little funding for all pediatric cancers is a well-guarded secret. Taylor was enraged and wanted to make a difference. She started the foundation as a grass-roots non-profit and today it is a national organization where Taylor's dreams to help other children remain eternal.
